Regular Red Day

 

Attention Sophomores and Juniors:

Are you looking for a way to make some money next school year?  If your schedule allows, there are several work study opportunities in local schools.  Most jobs are in the afternoon from 1:00 or 2:00pm until 4:00pm, Monday through Friday.  One opening from 7:30 to 10:30am.  At some schools, being bilingual in Spanish is helpful.  Work study students receive minimum wage and class credit.  To apply, you must see Mary Beth in the School to Career office.

 

Students who ordered transcripts – Please pick them up.

 

Prom:

Tickets are now on sale for prom by the planters!  The cost is $25.00 with ASB and $30.00 without.  If you are bringing a guest, don’t forget to get a guest pass from the front office.

 

Earth Day is coming up on Wednesday, April 22nd!  Walk, ride your bike or carpool to school on that day and you could win a prize.  Wear green to school that day and get some chocolate.

 

 

Career Center:

Visits to the Career Center today: 10:30am Northwest Institute of Esthetics, stop by and learn about skin care, permanent cosmetics and more. The Army will be here at 12:30.  Seniors:  Have you been a patient of Dr. Niles?  If so, then there is a scholarship opportunity for you!  Come to the Career Center to learn more.

 

Powder Puff:

Any junior or senior boys interested in coaching girls powder puff football must come to a coach’s meeting in the auditorium today during lunch.

 

Cheer Tryouts:

Hey Lancers, want to get more involved in school spirit?  Are you competitive? Cheer tryouts are coming.  It’s open to any one, any age.  There will be an informational student/parent meeting Tuesday, April 21st at 7:00pm in the cafeteria.  Tryouts are April 27th thru May 1st. For more information contact the Activity Center.

 

Leadership:

For everyone who is interested in being part of next year’s leadership council, ASB applications will be out April 20th pick one up in the Activities Center and have it returned by April 24th.

 

Are you a Sophomore or Junior?  Have you completed Churchill’s Health and Family class?  Are you interested in being paid to work with the children in the Child Development Center next year?  If so, pick a job application from Julie Johnson in the Teen Parent Office.  Applications for next school year will be available beginning this week, through May 1st.  Interviews will be held during the first two weeks of May.  If you have questions, see Julie Johnson.

Late Start Blue Day

Hey everyone!  The Mr. Lancer pageant is finally here.  Please come support the Children’s Miracle Network and all our Mr. Lancer guys by attending this fun event.  Tickets can be purchased at the door for $8.00.  The pageant will be held in the auditorium tonight at 7:00pm see you there.

Hey Juniors and Seniors!  Lane Community College will holds Hands-on-Career Exploration Day on Friday, April 24th from 8:30am to 1:00pm.  Juniors and Senior students may explore classes in: Airplane Flying, Culinary Arts, Auto/Diesel Technology, Media Arts, and more.  Registration is limited so sign up soon.  To register for these classes on line meet in the Career Center at lunch today thru Thursday or go to the computer lab at 3:00pm.  Classes are already filling up.

Congratulations to Olivia Manwarren and Desiree Peppers, both won medals in the ACT-SO competition.  Desiree won the bronze medal and Olivia won the gold medal and will be competing nationally in New York.

All girls are invited to this free fun event.  If you want to go to prom and are still looking for a dress, come to “Dress Me” in the gym on Tuesday, April 14th from 5:00 to 8:00pm or Wednesday, the 15th from 8:00 to 9:30am.  We will have nail technicians, hair stylists, and makeup artists on hand giving helpful hints and giveaways.

Advisory Red Day

 

Congratulations to Christa Coven for being honored in LCC’s regional high school art show.  Christa’s package design was voted “Best in Show” by LCC’s art department staff.  Congratulations also go to Marty Lowenthal for winning “Honorable Mention” for his poster design.

Register now for Driver Education Classes.  Classes will start meeting April 17th  and continue every Tuesday and Thursday night from 6:30 to 8:30pm.  See Cindy Sainz for financial aid information.  For more information, pick up a flyer in the main office.

 

Bookworm Club:

The Bookworm Club meets in the Library, today at lunch.

Spring Football Meeting:

All student athletes that are interested in playing football next year are invited to a player, parent, and coaches meeting at 7:00pm in the cafeteria tonight.

 

The final Career Seminar for 2009 will be tomorrow, during 4th period in the Career Center.  Join fellow students interested in the construction trades and apprenticeships and learn about these high demand, high paying careers.  Learn what it takes to be an electrician, carpenter, sheet metal worker, mason, plumber and more.  Learn how to get started while you’re still in high school.  Remember to check in with your 4th period teacher before coming.

 

Churchill Band:

The Churchill Bands are having a concert tonight.  The Jazz Band, Concert Band and Wind Ensemble will perform a wide variety of music from Supermarket Jazz to the Ravages of War.  The concert starts at 7:30pm in the Auditorium.

 

Prom:

Late Start Red Day

 

Attention all Graduating Seniors:

Fines and fees are posted outside of the Finance Office and in the Student Lounge.  Remember all fines and fees must be cleared prior to any graduation sign-up.

 

Drivers Ed:

Register now for Driver Education Classes.  Classes will start meeting on April 17th and every Tuesday and Thursday nights from 6:30 to 8:30pm.  Financial Aide is available, see Cindy Sainz.  For more information, pick up a flyer in the main office.

 

Bookworm Club:

The Bookworm Club meets in the Library, tomorrow at lunch.

 

If you are interested in participating in the Graphic Design Academy program for the 2009-10 school year then please attend an informational meeting at lunch on Tuesday, April 7th in room C-9.

 

Spring Football Meeting:

All student athletes that are interested in playing football next year are invited to a player, parent, and coaches meeting at 7:00pm in the cafeteria tomorrow night.

 

 

The final Career Seminar for 2009 will be tomorrow, during 4th period in the Career Center.  Join fellow students interested in the construction trades and apprenticeships and learn about these high demand, high paying careers.  Learn what it takes to be an electrician, carpenter, sheet metal worker, mason, plumber and more.  Learn how to get started while you’re still in high school.  Remember to check in with your 4th period teacher before coming.

 

Churchill Band:

The Churchill Bands are having a concert tomorrow night.  The Jazz Band, Concert Band and Wind Ensemble will perform a wide variety of music from Supermarket Jazz to the Ravages of War.  The concert starts at 7:30pm in the Auditorium.

 

 

Prom:

Prom is coming.  Save the date, April 25th at the Downtown Athlete Center.  Start thinking about who you want to ask.  Tickets go on sale April 13th and are $25.00 with an ASB card and $30.00 without.

 

 

 

Mr. Lancer:

The Mr. Lancer dance is this Friday from 8:30 to 10:30pm in the cafeteria.  The cost is $5.00 and that includes a raffle ticket to dance with a Mr. Lancer contestant.  Tickets also go on sale for the pageant which is April 9th in the auditorium at 7:00pm and the cost is $8.00, you can buy them at lunch by the planters.  Come and support the Mr. Lancer contestants and the Children’s Miracle Network.

 

Wrestling:

Four Churchill wrestlers represented Oregon in the 2009 Western Regional’s in Battle Ground Washington against 13 other States.  Russell Pascual, Dakota Tollen, Trevor Davis, and Kyle Rehberger.  Kyle Rehberger placed 3rd in the Greco Roman Tournament.  Congratulations Wrestlers.
