Announcements, announcement

Families are struggling due to job loss.

The current rate of unemployment exceeds 13%.  Many people are out of work for the first time.  They are not aware of the many services available to help them and their families.  Everyone knows someone who could use assistance… a friend, partner, or parent.  Please share this information with them.

There is a new help line for people who are out of work.  The number is 682-7200 or you can click here to view our website.  People can call this number to get information and referrals for employment related issues and more. Counselors can answer questions about training and jobs, and provide referrals to community resources for housing, food, medical and other basic needs.

This center is an initiative of Lane Workforce Partnership, the Oregon Employment Department, the Department of Human Services, Lane Community College, United Way, and the Department of Community Colleges and Workforce Development.

This is a free service, and is in addition to existing sites at 2510 Oakmont Way and at Lane Community College, Building 19.  The help line was created to provide enhanced customer service to our community during this time of economic struggle.
