Pep Assembly Red Day

 

Volunteer for Track Town USA:

To register as a volunteer fro the Prefontaine Classic this weekend or the 2009 USA track and field championships at the end of June, go to www.runnerspace.com/tracktown and click on “volunteer” in the menu bar.

 

Thespians:

There is a talent show in the Churchill theatre tomorrow night at 7:00pm.  Tickets are $5.00 and cookies will be available.  Come support the talented kids at Churchill.  See you there.

Late Start Red Day

 

Advanced Placement Literature:

A mandatory meeting for next year’s AP Literature students will be held in room J-9 on Monday at lunch.  If you can’t make it, please see Joy Wells or Leah Dunlap ASAP.

 

Powder Puff:

Girls, if you ordered a t-shirt or sweatshirt, pick them up in the Activities Center today.

 

Career Center:

Great summer community service hours, Eugene Safety Town volunteers needed.  Safety town is for youth volunteers 13 to 18 years old.  Applications are due June 15th at the Eugene Police Department.  For more information and an application, see the Career Center.

 

Bookworm Club:

The last Bookworm club of the year meets tomorrow at lunch in the library.

 

Lacrosse:

Lacrosse players – Mandatory meeting in Mr. Sterlings room tomorrow at 3:15pm.  Please bring your uniforms, we will also vote on awards to be presented at the banquet.

Graduation party tickets are being sold in the Activity Center.  They are $35 and include a T-shirt. Any student having trouble with finances please see Cindy Wilgus.   At tonight’s  Awards Ceremony,  grad party tickets are available for sale. Your parents can sign up to volunteer at the event.

Attention Sophomores and Juniors:

There are several work study opportunities open at nearby schools. Apply now for fall jobs.  Get paid and get class credit.  Morning and afternoon hours available, Monday through Friday.  Being bilingual is helpful at some schools, but not necessary.  To apply, see Mary Beth in the School to Career office.

Bookworm Club:

The last Bookworm club of the year meets Thursday at lunch in the library.

 

Interact:

We will have our last interact meeting and party tomorrow in the Career Center.  Officers from this year and those elected this year need to meet at 8:30am and the rest of the members at 9:00am.  Please come.

Two Churchill wrestlers represented Team Oregon in the Junior Greco World Duals held in Concord California.  Joe Potts made it to the finals, placing second.  Zac Brunson was the tournament champion beating the reigning National Champion.  This victory avenged his last summer’s loss.  Team Oregon placed second.

 

 

Senior slide show photo request

The Senior Class Leadership Team is collecting photos for the senior slideshow to be shown at the Senior Breakfast. Pictures should include group shots of two or more current seniors from any grade level. Any preschool, elementary, middle, or high school pictures in school or out of school are welcome. Bring pictures to Activity Center. Make sure the student's name is on each photo. Pictures will be scanned and returned to the student. Thank you for all the great pictures!! Deadline for pictures is June 5.

Career Center:

Let’s celebrate success as we honor students at the Awards Ceremony this Wednesday, at 7:00pm in the auditorium.

 

The Child Development Center has posted the list of aides hired for the 2009-2010 school year.  It is located in the hall outside room F-55.  There were over 30 applications this year.  Thank you to everyone who applied.

 

Thespians:

If you are involved with the talent show there is an absolutely mandatory meeting in the choir room during lunch tomorrow.  Be there or be square.

 

Attention Graduating  Seniors enrolled at U of O or LCC:  Are you looking for a way to make some money?  If you are registered for fall term at U of O or LCC, you may be eligible for work positions on campus.  Check the job notebook across the hall from the School to Career office for these jobs and many others.  See Mary Beth in the School to Career office if you have questions.

Seniors:

Tomorrow is the last day for walking partner sign ups.  Speakers and performers NEED to sign up now as we have reserved seating for you, all others need to sign up or we will do it for you and pick your partner.

 

Girls Basketball:

Attention female athletes – Anyone interested in playing girls summer basketball should attend practice today and tomorrow at 3:45.  If you are interested but unable to make it see coach Stewart in room LCC 2.

 

Thespians:

If you auditioned  for the talent show and are not sure if you got in, come to the choir room and look for your name on the list posted in the same spot you signed up for your audition.

 

Yearbook:

Yearbook sponsored t-shirts are on sale during IA.  Stop by and check out the design.

 

Spring Football practice is tomorrow, Friday, from 4:00 to 6:00pm.

Career Center:

Seniors – Many of you have not dropped by the Career  Center with your “Oh the places you will go” green sheet information.  We want to know your college choices and scholarship awards to post on the bulletin board.

 

Attention Sophomores and Juniors:

Are you looking for a way to make some money?  If your schedule allows, there are several work study opportunities that will begin next fall.  You could help in the office of financial services at the 4J district office or you could help in the front office of a nearby school.  Morning and afternoon hours available, Monday through Friday.  Being bilingual is helpful at some schools, but not necessary.  Avoid the rush apply today, see Mary Beth in the School to Career office.

The Thespian club is putting on a talent show!  Auditions will be today after school in the choir room.  Sign up for an audition time in the choir room. See you there.

 

Unicycle Reunion:

Anyone who has ever ridden in the McCornack Unicycle Club is invited to come for a reunion on Saturday, June 6th, 8:00am in the Churchill gym.

Seniors who have signed up to audition to perform or speak at graduation need to meet with Mr. B at 3:15pm today in the Choir room.

 

Seniors:

It’s almost time to sign up for walking partners!  Do you have all your fees, fines and leap taking care of?  You can’t sign up for seats until all of this is complete.  Also, Thursday is a senior meeting with a picture being taken at the rock. 

 

Leadership:

Attention Clubs!  The deadline for having your club participate in club day during Springfest has been extended to Wednesday, May 20th.  If you would like to get your club involved, then let Cindy Wilgus know by stopping by the activity center.
